A noted astrophysicist, Dr. Berman is best known as a “pied piper of science” through his monthly columns in Discover and Astronomy Magazine, the astronomy section of the Farmer’s Almanac , his 2 books ("Secrets of the Night Sky," Morrow 1996, and "Cosmic Adventure," HarperCollins 1999) his weekly presentation on National Public Radio (NPR), as well as his numerous TV appearances including Late Night with David Letterman. Dr. Berman can also frequently be found in the nation’s elementary and middle schools exciting children about what’s in the sky.

After 10 years as director of the Department of Microbiology and Biochemistry at McGill University in Montreal, Dr. Dubow accepted a research post in France. Dr. Dubow’s prominence in leading edge biological sciences like genomics and proteomics offers SEO invaluable, global-leading insight into the rapidly growing knowledge base of these sciences, which will be invaluable in creating ever-relevant curricula. |

With chemistry and nutrition science training, as well as research experience at McGill University ( Montreal), Cornell University ( New York), and Queen Elizabeth College ( London), Dr .Nelson brings a broad scientific background to SEO. An expert on the confluence of nutrition and poverty, Dr. Nelson brings tremendous resources to SEO as it looks to create programs addressing the growing problems of nutrition and health as it relate to the growing level of obesity among America’s youth. And while Dr. Nelson has frequently cautioned, “knowledge is one thing, action is another”, at the very least SEO can endeavor to offer to as many children as possible the right knowledge. It is always easier to undertake the proper actions when you at least have full knowledge of how your nutritional choices affect your health and appearance. Dr. Nelson is co-founder of the UK Nutritional Epidemiology Group. He is currently a member of the National Food Survey Committee as well as Deputy Director of the Family Budget Unit.

What can one say about Steven Pinker that inclusion in Time Magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world today (Time, April 26 2004) doesn’t already ? There is an aphorism about education that states “if the student doesn’t learn, then the teacher hasn’t taught”. It can thus be inferred that the greatest programs and curricula are equally of no value if the students do not learn from them. Dr. Pinker’s knowledge of how the mind works can be invaluable to SEO in ensuring that our programs are designed such that those we wish to learn from them will understand the same message we believe we are transmitting.
