Who the heck am I, anyway?

I'm Dave, a writer and photographer from Rochester, New York. I'm a 28 year old single white male, which puts me smack dab in the middle of every demographic in America.  But don't be fooled by that -- few average, mainstream people own world-traveling slinkies.  :)

I studied English at Nazareth College of Rochester until 1995, when I received my Bachelor's of Arts degree.  I am currently working as a technical writer for a small computer solutions company in Pittsford, New York.  I also do some freelance editing during my free time, and I write fiction whenever I can.  I don't have anything published beyond the local level, but I'm still trying!

Since Rochester is a world leader in photographic technology (Eastman Kodak originated here), it seemed only natural to pick up photography as a hobby. I've been taking courses at a local school, and I spend quite a lot of time in the darkroom. It's ironic, however, that only two of the photos on this site were taken by me!  Too bad; I would have loved to have come along to Venice, Mardi Gras, etc.

When I'm not writing, editing, taking photos, or making prints in the darkroom, I'm most often in a coffee shop trying to look artsy or on the slopes at ridiculously high speeds.  Skiing is a passion of mine -- although I have only been skiing for a few years, I do it every chance I get. Oh, and be sure to tune in at 89.7 WITR - I'm a deejay, and you might hear me babble on about something between sets.

Enough about me, let's get back to the pictures!
