101 Things About the Blurf!

  1. My physical disability has me medically termed as a "Bilateral Amputee"
  2. Means I have no legs below the knees (but one functional knee)
  3. My legs were amputated in 1973 to fit artificial legs
  4. I gave them up in my teen years because I felt they limited me
  5. Also have 1-digit hands
  6. I wear a brace on my left hand
  7. Can type 90 wpm
  8. I have also had Open Heart Surgery when I was young (7)
  9. I had a hole in my heart
  10. I have also had hernias
  11. 3 in fact...born with them
  12. I get around extremely well out of my chair
  13. I swim like a fish...and love it!
  14. We don't know the origin of my disability
  15. It doesn't matter to me one bit
  16. I use a Quickie wheelchair to get around (no comments needed!)
  17. It has 5 speed/power settings including an off-road mode!! I do better donuts in snow than most small cars!
  18. It cost almost as much too
  19. I live in a condo I bought 5 years ago
  20. I live with my fiancee Suz
  21. She is my angel
  22. I am amazed at her strength with the tribulations she has had
  23. We make each other laugh
  24. We don't argue-we respectively disagree
  25. I think Communication is the utmost aspect in a relationship
  26. We never end a conversation or day without saying "I Love You"
  27. We will be married 10/18/03
  28. My Best Man will be Fran
  29. I was Best Man for his wedding
  30. I adore his wife and stepdaughter
  31. I never thought I would get married
  32. Finding her was fate...story to be posted later
  33. I am severely allergic to cats
  34. Wish I could have one though
  35. We'll get a dog after we're married...Robyn's looks so cute!!
  36. I grew up with 2 dogs
  37. Flicka (Swedish for girl)
  38. Poijka (Swedish for boy)
  39. My parents are together 60 years +
  40. I am so appreciative for their continued love/guidance over the years
  41. I have 3 older brothers
  42. None have any kind of physical disability
  43. I talk to them often
  44. They treated me like any baby brother growing up
  45. They once threw me off my parent's roof into the snow with all kinds of protective gear on
  46. Took them a 1/2 hr to find me
  47. I lost my Best Friend Marc in 1993
  48. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him
  49. I think he'd be proud of me now
  50. He is my guardian angel
  51. His life inspires me daily
  52. He'll be standing on my right shoulder at our wedding
  53. His Mom will hopefully make it to our service
  54. She is also a mom to me in my heart
  55. Suz's guardian angel Rich will be on her left shoulder
  56. She almost married Rich
  57. I miss him too
  58. I am a proud geek
  59. I have some Pet Peeves: (surprise! surprise! surprise!)
  60. Bad drivers
  61. People who choose to abuse children (then complain when their children are taken away)
  62. Nasty drunks
  63. People with disabilities who could work but choose not to
  64. And of course, the non-disabled who park in Handicapped spots "because it's closer"
  65. I swear too much (never at work tho)
  66. I am extremely stubborn
  67. I am extremely proud of my accomplishments (blog included)
  68. But I am also generous too a fault with my friends
  69. I am a horndog :)
  70. I am going bald
  71. It's hereditary-I'm catching up to Dad
  72. I drive an Astro minivan
  73. I have crashed two vans
  74. One twice
  75. Second time I hit a school bus
  76. My hand controls failed
  77. I crawled out of my van, hopped to the bus and asked if the kids were ok
  78. I then passed out
  79. My next oldest brother's nickname for me is Wumpus
  80. I despise it
  81. I love my work
  82. I hate politics...period
  83. I help people use the Internet at my job
  84. via Telephone and Email Support
  85. I am on the Board of our Condo Association
  86. but I never get calls to do anything
  87. My first computer was an Apple II+
  88. My first game addiction was Wizardry
  89. We now have 2 PC's
  90. Each runs Win98
  91. Sold my last Mac 4 years ago
  92. I love WWE
  93. It helps me shutdown after a bad Monday night at work
  94. Soap opera for men
  95. Although I've watched Days of Our Lives forever
  96. I work nights
  97. Tend to wake up at 1-1:30pm
  98. Trying to get up earlier
  99. Suz works days
  100. We love it-she gets her alone time-I get mine
  101. I'M DONE!! It wasn't that bad at all!
