Watch u talkin' 'bout willis?!  I'm not quite sure what the Buffalo Bills were thinking when they traded Willis McGahee to the Baltimore Ravens this week.  Is management determined to trade away their best players so they can field a loosing team every year?!  Sure, they will be getting some draft picks this year.  But they'll be first year running backs, without the experience Willis brought to the team.  Now I'm just scared that they'll let J.P. Lossman handle the ball more than he needs to.  Bad things happened last year every time it wasn't a running play with Willis.  Maybe they'll surprise me?  We'll just wait and see.

Both Jakey & Becky had their birthday's this past week.  Jakey's party was good, and he was so cute playing with the other kids there and opening his presents.  Things are going good at Atomic Design.  I'm going to start learning more about HTML, CSS, and PHP in the coming weeks.  This will let me help out more with site updates, and other development projects.  I made hotel reservations at a hotel in Rome, NY for this year's Baseball Hall of Fame induction.  That was the closest I could find a hotel, which is still closer than trying to drive there and back in the same day.  But there is no way I'm missing Cal Ripken Jr.'s induction ceremony!

Listening to: nothing

Ok, so it snowed, get over it. There was less than 3 inches of accumulation overnight last night of fluffy snow. Most of the drivers I encountered acted like they've never seen snow before in their lives. It was like they were driving slow so they could admire the light snow that was coming down. Luckily not all drivers were stopping to admire the snow. It's Rochester, NY, and it snows every winter and we have to drive through it every year, so there's nothing new about that.

The first 2 miles or so of my morning commute found people going at or above the posted speed limit. Then we came up on those snow admirers and for 55 minutes while driving to my mom's to drop of Jake was in the middle of a string of cars that would brake at 10 MPH to stop and look at the snow. Mind you, it only takes less than 20 minutes even during the morning rush hour to drop Jake off. From there to Atomic Design was only 20 minutes through snowy roads, which isn't that bad because it takes 15 on dry roads. But it shouldn't take an hour to drive to my parents when there isn't any snow on the ground!

A lot has changed in the last few months.  I no longer work for Concentrix.  I'm now working for Atomic Design as part of their Search Engine Optimization team. It was different coming from large corporate companies to a small 9 person office, but I really do like it and finally feel like I am more than just a number.  It's also nice to be working above The Old Toad.  I got an e-mail newsletter from the Rochester Red Wings a few weeks ago announcing next years schedule & promotions, and the home opener is on my birthday!

On June 8th the Rochester Insider wrote a mini-bio on me for their "What I'm Into" section.  It was a cool experience, and the article mentioned KidLotz.  I've been working a lot of overtime at Concentrix since I started, which has almost become necessary to survive. Luckily the job isn't that bad, the co-workers are nice, but still I'd rather not work 6 days a week.  Earlier this month Becky & Jakey went out of town for five days to visit family.  While gone I tried to pick up around the house, and get a new coat rack and towel rack up.  The Maines family reunion is coming up in a couple of weeks in Frenchville, PA.  It's always fun, and I hope to spend some quality time with my cousins. And we'll be staying at the Budget Inn this year rather than the Comfort Inn.  This opens up a whole new market for us to talk about KidLotz, and have it spread word of mouth from our family to their friends in different parts of the country.

I did get the job with Concentrix.  I'm in the middle of my third week there now.    This company provides call center support to companies that don't have their own.  The department I'm working on is the 1-800-BY-RYDER number.  Within the last month KidLotz.com made its first sale!  We've been watching Rileigh recently (and will until Brooke's semester ends in 2 weeks).  I'm really glad that Jakey's getting a chance to socialize with a baby his age.  And she is too cute!  I'll try and get a picture on here soon.  Oh, I finally got a couple of pictures on the photos page today.  I'm seriously considering starting my Master's degree.  I'm thinking about either a degree in Public Policy, Communications & Media Technologies.  One's offered at RIT, the other at Brockport.  But if I do choose Brockport, many of the classes are also offered at the Downtown Metro Center.  I'd like to have this all figured out so I can start in the fall.

Happy Birthday to me!  To avoid previous mistakes with this website I'll try to update at least once per month.  Maybe this month I'll actually get something in the photo section.  Of course, there may be more frequent updates if something exciting happens.  Like if I get a job.  I've had follow-up interviews with  Concentrix.  They seem to like me, and said a final hiring decision should be made no later than April 11th.  I'm crossing my fingers. Then on Saturday I'll be at Frontier Field for the Red Wings home opener with Becky & Jakob.  We'll have lots of munchies for Jake, which should keep him occupied.  I'm going to my grandparent's tomorrow to help back up their computer, because they're talking about getting a new one.

After far too long I am redesigning and updating this website.  Much of the content was many years old, and did not properly reflect who I am now and where I am in my life.  The content itself sat completely untouched for almost 3 years to the date.  It is due time for this update.

Who am I now?  I am a father, husband, brother, brother-in-law, college graduate, and business owner.  But those terms hardly scratch the surface.  As I grow as a person I hope to use this site to document the growth.
