Walkin Willie's Review of "Yum Yum" Album

You might say that Ian Blackwell had me at "Hello". His first track opens with an eight second intro by this charming 12 year old lad from Canandaigua N.Y, to greet his audience. He bounces right into a "tongue in cheek" original tune called Fish Food -yum yum, the basis for the album's title. He then delves into some very enjoyable and accurately stolen licks and covers. alarmingly accurate for a dude who's only been playing about a year or so! Self taught at that. Given his age and insightful guitar playing and interesting lyrics, of which my favorite right now is The Procrastinator Song, this young man has the goods to be a professional musician, in the very near future. But even better than that, he writes songs about who he is, at a place only a twelve year old can be and brings the listener into that place too.
