To Them

Our Lord, Our God, what grace so great and love to us you've shown.
Our son you gave, our first you took, our daughter's love unknown.

This trial of faith has pressed us down with agonizing pain
But clearly showed Your faithfulness; most blessed be Your name.

We're full assured in heart to know your Son for them did bleed
And took two home, though born they were of Adams ruined seed.

The Light which shines toward all mankind, blind they were to see;
Shall not the judge of all do right? So safe they are with thee.

For now there's one for whom we pray to see that glorious Light:
How Jesus Christ, the risen Lord, laid down for him His life.

With that, we trust in You to move so sin he'll understand:
That trust in You he'll choose to have, and so be born again.

Then pray we still for him to grow in knowledge and Your grace:
That more than simply "just" he'll be, but live his life by faith.

So as he stands before one day his Savior's judgment seat,
Rewards he'll see and crowns of gold to lay before His feet.

Those words so sweet, oh may he hear, "Well done, thou faithful servant…"
Then enter in and meet the two - and together they will worship.

Our Lord, Our God, what grace so great and love to us you've shown:
Our son you gave, Your own forsook, please may he know it young.
