Answers:
1) Yes I am maintaining the site.  I will check the empty updates.
There may have been a glitch in the ftp when I moved them.
2) I don't know of any other discussions going on.  Sometimes I get
messages from people like yourself and I put them on the directory.
3)As far as anyone has been able to determine, neither Manson nor anyone
connected with the book has made any statements.

One of the FAQ maintainers for rec.puzzles requested (and I supplied) a
write-up for the FAQ which expresses everything I say at the web site.
That should appear "at the next update of the FAQ"
