We live in Upstate NY, near Rochester and participate in many outdoor activities. We enjoy all four seasons and look forwards to the activities each, brings. Winter is fun as the snow is great for Snowboarding and Skiing! Our other hobbies include Fly Fishing (New!), Motorcycle, Bicycling and Canoeing. (We built our own cedar strip canoe!)
The picture in the upper left corner is from a time exposure photograph I took at the July 4th fireworks display in 1997 at Bull Shoals dam in Arkansas.

Here is a Picture of the Canoe we built. This was her maiden voyage in October 1995 on the barge canal. It's made of western red cedar except for the thwarts and gunwale's which are made of ash. Although it doesn't show it, the seats are caned, large and very comfortable! No, I did not buy a kit! I did however buy a book called 'Building a Strip Canoe' by Gil Gilpatrick. This canoe is the 18.5' long, E.M. White Guide. It took us 6 weeks of actual construction time to build and weighs 74lbs. It paddles like a dream!!!
