McKeever SectionBear LakeBear Lake is a beautiful place, popular with trout fishermen. There are loons and beaver in the summer. Bear Lake also boasts something quite rare in the Adirondacks--a sandy beach (albeit a small one).
Woodhull LakeThese pictures were taken at Woodhull Lake and along the trail from Bear Lake to Woodhull Lake.
Remsen FallsThis scenic spot is easily reached from the McKeever trailhead, and it's too bad. When we arrived, we found the main campsite spoiled with litter and garbage. After setting up camp, we built a small bonfire to burn the plastic and paper garbage. The aluminum cans and metal furniture remnants we packed in extra garbage bags and carried out the next day. Do us all a favor, and leave your campsite cleaner than you found it. If you can carry it in, you can carry it out.
