Adirondack Photos

Moose River Wild Forest

Taken in September 1995, these photos capture the beauty of the sunrise on Lower Mitchell Pond and Falls Pond. The Moose River forest is a 50,000 acre tract, located near Inlet, that used to belong to the Gould Paper Company.

West Canada Lakes

See the early fall color at Brooktrout Lake. These were taken in mid-September, 1995. An old hermit named French Louie used to live in the West Canadas. His biography is an interesting story of the early days in the Adirondacks.

High Peaks

It always seems to be in the fall that I make it to the High Peaks. These photos were taken in October 1996 and October 2001, during the first weekend of the month. On both occasions we had snow showers and temps ranging from 20 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. This October (2001) we also hiked in a cold soaking rain for a couple of hours on Saturday morning. I have another set of photos, from September 1997, taken along the Calamity Brook trail. (Note: These will be posted when I have chance to scan them.)

McKeever Section

The McKeever Section is located south of Old Forge and Thendara, near the South Branch of the Moose River. These photos were taken in June 1995 and April 2001.
